Electronic logbook & KPI performance management
Key Performance Indicators enable iR3 users to monitor day to day operational performance via Telemetry-based vehicle productivity and utilisation reports, which make it easy for user to see changes. iR3 offers an Excel based reporting suite, with performance metrics that can be analysed and filtered by vehicle groups and locations or any combination down to individual vehicles and home base / workshops.
iR3 also offers all drivers an electronic log book, including trip start and finish date/time, mileage, location and driver details, removing the requirement to manually log vehicle trips, this greatly reduces the amount of paperwork required.
Vehicles using iR3 systems cover all aspects of how they are being used. This includes travelling to jobs, time spent at jobs, time spent away from jobs, key locations visited etc. There are many roles vehicles have to cope with and numerous operational requirements per role. iR3 vehicle productivity reporting is a process for extracting the maximum value from a vehicle, by linking how vehicles are actually being used to deliver core business requirements such as jobs.
Telemetry can continually measure and communicate accurately vehicle status and movement in relation to workload schedules, enabling management to gain full visibility.
iR3 uses statistical modelling to identify where vehicles are potentially misaligned to the organisation’s operational needs. The analysis can identify by vehicle role whether vehicles could be re-allocated to better fit the organisations customer demands, or potentially surplus to requirements.
To improve vehicle utilisation, iR3 reports on key activities such as parked at bases, jobs, workshops, time spent moving, idling and unknown locations. iR3 reports on in home base and workshop activity using time spent idling to reduce fuel consumption and emissions and improve vehicle downtime. Vehicle mileage, equipment usage and fuel site visits are also reported on, which can assist in mileage smoothing, analysis of how effective in vehicle equipment is and which fuel sites are visited most frequently which can be analyses to reduce overall fuel costs
Results can be filtered by base locations, operational areas, regions, vehicle roles and individual vehicles and drivers. Vehicle utilisation reporting enables managers to re-allocate vehicles, taking into account both the work demand and actual vehicle usage. This enables managers to align their fleet to changing customer demands, improve vehicle utilisation, smooth out mileages and reduce service and maintenance costs.
Duty of care
Duty of care is a legal obligation to a standard of reasonable care while driving that could foresee-ably harm others. iR3 tracks driver speeding events against the national road speed database and measures driver behaviour. Driver behaviour using statistical analysis on g-force values when braking, accelerating and cornering during each trip.
Drivers are given individual feedback on each trip they undertake, as well as measuring their driver performance overtime. The analysis can help identify drivers that may need refresher training and assist in protecting the organisation’s reputation. iR3 also includes an Incident data Recorder [IDR] which is triggered when the vehicle suffers severe deceleration, as in an collision. iR3 can send an automated alert to managers and captures key data which can be used in any accident claim. The IDR event is included when replaying an event to assess how the accident/ collision occurred.
Fleet and vehicle health
Vehicle health is continually monitored by iR3 via the engine management system, which pushes reports on specific asset problems as they occur. Vehicles fitted with iR3 hardware are able to provide real-time notifications on malfunction indicator lights [MIL] also known as engine management lights and diagnostic trouble code [DTC] information occurring in the engine management system.
This information may indicate when vehicles may require workshop attention to prevent secondary damage. iR3 also assess longer term vehicle reliability within an operational role by carrying out MIL and DTC analysis overtime. Linked with vehicle downtime, iR3 data can assess which vehicles (makes & models) are suitable for specific roles, and which may not be. This analysis can have a direct impact on vehicle availability and whole life costs.
iR3 also measures the smoothness of driving using analytics on g-force values generated by the driver. Over a longer period of time, the impact of how vehicles are driven on vehicle health can be analysed.
Preventative maintenance and analytics
iR3 provides continual updates on mileage, engine running time, engine malfunction indicator lights and diagnostic trouble code information, which combined with vehicle service and maintenance history can be analysed to identify patterns in repairs and maintenance works undertaken.. This analysis can identify which vehicles are proving reliable and which are not.
iR3 analytics can recommend alternative maintenance schedules, frequencies of parts replacements and make recommendations on work carried out, with the aim of reducing unscheduled downtime and achieving cost savings. iR3 telemetry enables continuous review of maintenance scheduling based on vehicle usage patterns. This allows the preventative maintenance model to update in near-real time, balancing new repairs and current maintenance schedules.
